For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
Oh goodness gracious, thank you for delivering this lovely delight of a book to me, Becca! You've definitely done a great job. Hush, Hush was a book I happened to see at Sam's Club and I did happen to see some good reviews on this, so why the heck not?
Thank God I made a good choice.
Hush, Hush is anything but boring and bland. The rough, intense, mysterious love between Patch and Nora got me going "Whoo baby!" as did the plot with its twists and turns as it leads you through the story. At first I could not get used to the name, Patch. Seriously guys, he sounds like a PIRATE. Patch the Pirate, with a hook on his left hand and a parrot on his right shoulder. Thankfully, I got over that mental image block as Becca described him as this delicious, sexy, rough bad boy~
And Nora, wow. I really liked how Becca described Nora in this book. Usually, I'd be screaming inside my head, "What the spicy(yes, spicy), I'm gonna kill *insert character that is like Nora*". However, it's different this time. Becca managed to hit that kind of character with a special kind of magic. Don't know what it is, but I honestly love Nora. Sure the girl has no common sense whatsoever, but her strong feelings pulse throughout the book and her character really worked with me.
The romance, man, I'm not even going to say. It's that good. If you read this book and liked it as much as I did, you know what I'm talking about. Well, maybe I'll give you a little something: sizzlin' HOT. Don't worry guys, I'm not talking about that here.
The plot and writing was exceptionally amazing. Reading through more and more of the story, I just couldn't find myself stopping. It was definitely addicting, that I'll say. I loved all the background history it gave and all the myths and lore it came with it as well.
I'm already reading the sequel, Crescendo, and hmm. Well can't say too much right now, but I'll let you know.
