Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Oh goodness gracious, thank you for delivering this lovely delight of a book to me, Becca! You've definitely done a great job. Hush, Hush was a book I happened to see at Sam's Club and I did happen to see some good reviews on this, so why the heck not?

Thank God I made a good choice.

Hush, Hush is anything but boring and bland. The rough, intense, mysterious love between Patch and Nora got me going "Whoo baby!" as did the plot with its twists and turns as it leads you through the story. At first I could not get used to the name, Patch. Seriously guys, he sounds like a PIRATE. Patch the Pirate, with a hook on his left hand and a parrot on his right shoulder. Thankfully, I got over that mental image block as Becca described him as this delicious, sexy, rough bad boy~

And Nora, wow. I really liked how Becca described Nora in this book. Usually, I'd be screaming inside my head, "What the spicy(yes, spicy), I'm gonna kill *insert character that is like Nora*". However, it's different this time. Becca managed to hit that kind of character with a special kind of magic. Don't know what it is, but I honestly love Nora. Sure the girl has no common sense whatsoever, but her strong feelings pulse throughout the book and her character really worked with me.

The romance, man, I'm not even going to say. It's that good. If you read this book and liked it as much as I did, you know what I'm talking about. Well, maybe I'll give you a little something: sizzlin' HOT. Don't worry guys, I'm not talking about that here.

The plot and writing was exceptionally amazing. Reading through more and more of the story, I just couldn't find myself stopping. It was definitely addicting, that I'll say. I loved all the background history it gave and all the myths and lore it came with it as well.

I'm already reading the sequel, Crescendo, and hmm. Well can't say too much right now, but I'll let you know.

In My Mailbox (1)

IMM is currently hosted by The Story Siren

Bad news: Only one book for me this week.. *sad puppy dog face*

Good news: I don't have to go drive and buy books at the store because... I got a Kindle~ *insert squeals and giggles here* Thank you, Mommy and Daddy, for the lovely graduation present ♥ Even though I got my Kindle around in the summer... hehe. These good news are kind of late.. However, that doesn't mean I'm going to stop reading paperbacks and hardcovers~

Anyways, the book I bought this week is...

CRESCENDO by Becca Fitzpatrick (I just died when I finally bought this)

The sequel to the New York Times Best selling phenomenon, Hush, Hush! Nora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home. The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

Contact

Hey there~!

If you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to contact me at iadorebooksblog(at)gmail(dot)com.

A little bit about me ♥

Oh hello there! Welcome to my book blog~

I'm Alessandra! I Adore Books (or IAB for short), is this here little book blog I've started.

I love books, although unlike most people, I wasn't always a book lover. I am an addict on the computer, I like to muse and be a little random, I love to eat sweets and such, and I'm usually a friendly, easy-to-get-along-with kind of person :3
